Some of these patterns I’ve released under the Cosmos Models brand while others have been commissioned by JPG Productions, Utar Ships, Multiverse Models, The Delta Quadrant and Odyssey Slipways. Many of the kits I’ve created fall under a certain franchised-themed category. Please feel free to email me at nicholassagan .Īlso since getting back into the hobby in 2008 I’ve developed new kits that fill certain niches within the modeling world. My pricing also reflects the various tiers of complexity. what is involved by way of time and materials, before beginning work. A commission could range anywhere in complexity from a re-paint and decal job to a fully lit, 3-foot Star Destroyer with a mirrored display base! Typically I will discuss at length with clients about the technical aspects of a project, i.e. No subject is off-limits to commission work and my studio is fully capable of handling work up to most studio scale sizes. A fair number of works shown on this site are such projects (and can be filtered through the category selection at the bottom of the page). In short, the Lancer is a must use for any Imperial Remnant player as a first defense against enemy fighters and bombers.I accept commission projects as well. It is also wise to remember that this is a frigate class ship, not a corvette, resulting in it taking damage in asteroid fields whereas its main rivals the CR90 Corellian Corvette and Vigilance-class Gunship having an advantage over the Lancer. The main weaknesses of the Lancer are its lack of capital grade weaponry and shields, as well as its slow sublight speeds. Quite capable of shredding enemy starfighters, three or four are always necessary in any fleet (offensive or defensive) to prevent too great of a loss to your own fighters and bombers. The Lancer is the anti-fighter frigate of the Imperial Remnant. During the Yuuzhan Vong War, these were recommissioned by the New Republic for use against coralskippers. Many were decommissioned, but the design principles were incorporated into the Ranger-class Gunship, a New Class design. As the Empire collapsed and the New Republic began shutting down the remaining warlords, many Lancers were captured by the New Republic Defense Fleet. ![]() Used as raiders against key New Republic worlds, Lancers were easily able to shred the planetary defense garrisons (which were composed completely of starfighters). It was not until the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn that Lancers were reborn into Imperial Service. These ships, like smaller vessels before them, were relegated to planetary defense and rearguard duty. This led to most Imperial commanders preferring to use the cheaper and more disposable TIE fighters for screening duty. 7,11,0, 9,0,1, 11,7,1, // Length and number of words of that length 6, 8, // Coordinates where words start and direction (0 horizontal) 0,5,0, 0,11,0. It was also quite slow, allowing enemy starfighters to simply outrun it. Outfitted completely for starfighter hunting, the Lancer sacrificed all capital grade weaponry and shielding. Kuat Drive Yards' Lancer-class Frigate was the answer to this problem. After the destruction of the First Death Star by a handful of Rebel fighters, the need for a dedicated anti-fighter vessel became quite clear. As Rebel Alliance fighter pilots became accustomed to and began exploiting the weaknesses of Imperial Star Destroyers, Imperial officers became increasingly concerned about the effectiveness of these heavily-armed and shielded fighters. Imperial starships had long focused on ship-to-ship combat, with smaller capital ships relegated to planetary defense rather than picket duty. ![]() It carries an armament of 20/4 Quad Laser cannons. Despite its impressive size, the Zumwalt-class destroyer. One of the faster frigate ships is the Indian Navy’s Shivalik class that is touted to travel up to 32kn (59km/h) at max speed, while others range between 26-30kn (48-55km/h). The Lancer-class Frigate is a light frigate available to the Imperial Remnant in Eras 1–5. Frigates are generally slower than destroyers although in modern times there is not a significant difference. ![]()
